About Me
hello!
My name is Maiya Roelen.
At a young age, I recognized the need for youth involvement in climate and conservation work. To engage and empower young people in the environmental movement, I started Watch Our Step. WOS is a youth storytelling resource, tool, and blog dedicated to empowering young people to be changemakers.
I believe in the strength of youth and our ability to make a difference, and I am excited about building community! My goal is to give young people the tools we need to protect the future of our planet. ​

I am currently an undergraduate student studying Wildlife Biology and Climate Change Studies with certificates in Global Leadership and Nonprofit Administration! I am excited to use my education for a career in environmental conservation.
